Is anyone else out there?

Post by Wiz »

I see by the member list that there are 154 people registered on this site, yet all the posting gets done by the same few people.

We all know what those people think: won't someone else step on up and give an opinion? It's getting really stale here. Come on, be brave. There are no stupid questions. There are no stupid opinions. I've read books written by people with less-informed opinions than ANYone who's EVER posted here.

If you're on this site, you're interested in the subject and you have an opinion. Come on - spill it!

Wiz,
Silence is Golden!!

Maybe we could use the site to discuss our favorite subject, since there is no one to disagree now.

Have you been doing any reading? I found a new book by a real TH about s/s. I also think I have deciphered "Bobbi's horse".

Where is Ron? Maybe he can tell us how much is going to charge for the gold he plans to find in the old cave?

Joe, Peter and Lone Wolf are resting until the next go around. They can't stay away much longer.

Take care,

Azmula,

Please do not lump me in with Joe and Lone Wolf. I never bid the forum farewell. I will continue to post if something strikes my fancy.

Aurum,

Things sure did heat up while you were gone. I imagine you would have had some input had you been around at that time. I however, (being kindler and gentler now) did manage to stay above the fray...I think. lol

Hey, I'm here, and I find this forum fascinating. I'd feel like Typhoid Mary if it slacked off just about the time I started posting!

Seriously, though... maybe some people (like me) are hesitant about posting here because they feel like they have nothing authoritative to offer. My LDM knowledge is at least 20 years out of date, and you guys seem to be VERY authoritative in your expertise.

However, once Amazon.com delivers my copy of Tom Glover's book and I digest it all, I expect to have some scintillating speculation (or at least intelligent conversation) to share very soon.

Until then, keep posting!

PS: Thanks to all who answered my earlier post with useful information. I'm sufficiently encouraged to the point where I'll ask some more dumb questions pretty soon, too.

Hi Thirsty,
I just re-read your earlier "dumb posting", and it doesn't look to me like you're very far, if any, behind the curve here. In fact I suspect that once you catch up on some of the more recent literature (specifically Glover's books), and given the background in your bio, pretty soon a lot of the rest of us will be asking YOU "dumb questions".
The perspective to keep here is that as authoritatively as some on this forum may speak, no one has yet found the mine. Until that happens, it's all just talk and speculation, and your speculation is every bit as valid as that of anyone else who hasn't found anything. And if you actually find it, you will be the champ!
So I hope no one out there is intimidated by all the fancy talk here. We're all just speculating, and this forum could sure use some fresh perspective.
